Saratoga Springs, NY

Enter a small resort town just north of Albany situated at the base of the Adirondack Mountains. Saratoga Springs is the epitome of the horse industry’s most luxurious desires. Featuring the famous Saratoga Racetrack, Thoroughbred owners, breeders, and enthusiasts alike flock to this town for its annual summer track meet and Fasig-Tipton horse sales. Along with the undeniable draw of the equine culture, Saratoga sports a hipster vibe rooted in arts and entertainment. The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is an outdoor amphitheater that features a multitude of musical events bordered by famous museums including The National Museum of Dance and the National Museum of Racing. An added bonus: the nearby Adirondack Mountains offer a natural escape from the city amidst dense pine forests and rolling granite slabs.

Acadia National Park, ME

A picturesque island composed of quaint harbors, rocky beaches and a completely preserved recreation area sits off the southernmost coast of Maine. The most popular activities include camping, hiking, rock climbing, and of course indulging in the state’s most famous cuisine: lobster. Otter Cliffs features world-class rock climbing literally on the edge of the ocean, overlooking the emerald waves below. The nearby Precipice offers hiking and climbing in a more wooded environment and spectacular ocean views at the summit. Craving juicy, steamed lobster? Check out Beal’s Lobster Pier or the Side Street Cafe.

North Conway, NH

White Mountain National Forest, including the tallest peak in the Northeast, Mt Washington, set the scene for this small but thriving town. Mt Washington State Park represents an entire vacation destination in of itself, allowing for mobile summit access via a well-maintained road accompanied by a quaint summit cafe, and observatory at the peak. The delicate alpine garden environment of the higher elevation is protected by graveled trails allowing access for hikers and climbers. Climbing the Northeast Pinnacle of the mountain is a classic alpine objective, bragging seven pitches of roped-up rock climbing.

Stowe, VT

The Northeast lays claim to the most desired and highly ranked beer in the country- and rightfully so! The otherwise rolling farmland of central Vermont is peppered with the most sought-after breweries and selected beer stores. The top award goes to The Alchemist Brewery, creator of the infamous Heady Topper Double IPA. What makes Vermont so special? The fact that there are limited numbers of Alchemist beer produced every year- and you can only find them in Vermont, and in limited quantities at that.

Shenandoah National Park, VA

Far back down the coast from the Northeast lies an unbelievably beautiful natural gem. Shenandoah National Park extends along the Blue Ridge Mountains, following an entirely ridge-running road called Skyline Drive, crossed numerous times by the Appalachian Trail on both sides. With five designated campgrounds and dozens of lookout points, there is not an undesirable location in the entire park. Shenandoah National Park is a peaceful way to end a busy adventure along the east coast.
